It had an automatic, but with overdrive (original set-up with the emergency brake around the back of the tranny). I paid $350 for the whole kit-and-kaboodle and got $350 out of the tranny on e-Bay, so my hemi was basically free! ...except the $416.00 to have the heads rebuilt, and the new bearings and rings and plugs and...
