It seems that we only have commercial diesels available which are designed for a couple 100,000 miles between rebuilds.

It would be nice to have a lighter duty diesel available. I know that GM tried there modified block with dismal failure in the 80's.

My question on the above is why. With all of the race parts available for the GM block, I would think the bottom end would be plenty strong. With a reduced/sleeved bore of around 3.25 it would give close to 300 cu with a 4" stroke. I don't know if the head bolt design could take the pressure or not.

Probably a stupid question, but I am Just curious on the lack of light duty diesels available.

Thanks guys
