The transfer case and the e-brake are the only things I haven't touched since I bought my '49 13 years ago, and I must say, the e-brake works very well. I suspect it would lock up the rear wheels if fully applied (that is, if the axle shafts don't break - they tend to be a weak link, from what I've read and heard).
