Mark, Saw your great July 24 picture of the Pot Peak smoke plume. If possible would you please e-mail the pic to me.

I am Operations Section Chief on WIMT 4 assigned to Pot Peak July 12 to July 26 (we were the third Incident Management Team on the fire, and now the 4th is there. We are limited to 14 day assignments).

FYI: July 23 displayed a good plume but it was capped by a upper level barrier at 12,000 feet. The plume you photographed topped 30,000 feet on July 24. We had trouble that day as the fire bumped our indirect line pretty hard and we chased slopovers and spots. We put up a pretty good plume on July 25 when we fired out more than 3 and a half miles of indirect line just as the fire hit the lines (hand lighting and helicopter ping-pong). Lines held. July 26 was mop and secure - not much activity. I expect the Pot Peak incident to be pretty docile from now on.

The Team that has Pot Peak now also has the problemmatic Sisi Ridge and Deep Harbor fires.

Necessary Dodge comment: I drove my WC 53 yesterday on my manditory R&R day....

Thanks, Mark
