Back in '47, I was walking with my mother to attend the very first day of school. As we passed a run-down mansion, I accidentally kicked a hornet's nest in the overgrowth. I was immediately attacked by a swarm of the little devils, and wound up with about twenty stings on my bare legs! Needless to say, I was a basket-case! My Mom had to take me back home to treat the wounds, and I arrived for school an hour late, with all sorts of apologies from my mother to the teacher! I remember the incident well. It wasn't the best way to start out one's academic life! Dave Maher
