It was once rumored to be a 2.8 Italian Built diesel, then Daimler bought the Italian company, the motor is still a 2.8 but now called a Mercedes. Could it be the same motor from Italy, or the Brazilian plant may be the Italian companies' plant?
All I know is that this is giving me a headache! ha!ha!
One thing for sure, it is a new common rail, second generation, clean diesel with plenty of torque.
