Get real, guy! Networking is what this site is all about, communication is foremost. Maybe you lost on one item (doubt it), next time you will gain from the network, i.e. parts, how to, etc.
And about 'losing out', I doubt it. You probably would have been outbid anyway, or it was too far anyway, or you didn't REALLY have the cash, or you didn't REALLY want it- it's hard to claim a loss if you didn't have a contract already, if you did, sue the sellor, not the messenger.
