...at the VC or VD cabs they sit just about the in the same position on the frame, but they have an extra 4" on the lower door valance. Now look at the 2WD motor position, about the same 4" lower and 2" back in the frame. When a 1/2 ton or WC cab is installed on a WDX PW chassis, the firewall has to be cut that extra 4" because the 4x4 motor sits higher and farther forward. The cut out in the firewall prohibits 1/2 ton cabs on the 1 ton but the PW cab will fit on the 1/2 and the M's. The hoods and cowl will interchange, I did a little survey at Hollister on that very issue, look at the Image Event Hollister 2004 Album, hoods in photos, #30, 31, 32 and 39 will give you an idea how these hoods blend into the different cowl radii.
