the Excalibur, in later versions, was gaudy.
However, the earlier two seat open cars with cycle fenders were made to look similar to the Mercedes SSK. Steve McQueen owned one, it was for sale a few years ago. The prototypes were actually badged as a Studebaker SS (I think).
The builder Brooke Stevens, and his two sons really built a car that is worthy of a description exceeding kit car.
I would take an early one, but yes the newer ones are even more pimp than Judd and his Purple Ford.
