Smoking Breather

How much smoke should come out of the breather. I swear my truck us up to two packs a day. Is this something to be to worried about? The motor isn't exactly new. I would put it closer to the end of it's demise phase. Both flat heads I have had have smoked. Just wondering how much is normal.
