I have ssen them on many vehicles,semms like in whatever position would fit in the car or truck.Recently replaced one on [i think] a T bird whick was side ways.The accumulater is a bladder with gas in it which is compressed by hydralic pressure when available,allowing a stop or two with power after stall.It should work in any mounting position.
