Hi all. Just got my rebuild parts from VPW. A couple of surprises at least to me.
1. The new axle bushings measure 1.520 in the bore. The axle boss measures 1.513. That gives me .007 of clearance. Thought it would be closer than that. The old bushings measure 1.530 so there wasn't a whole lot of wear. Don't know when they were installed.
2. The bronze cone bushings are made with a spiral oil groove. This is good. Too bad they didn't do the same to the axle bushings. I won't be using the cone bushings though. I have tapered roller bearings already installed on top and bottom.
Probably different manufacturers between the bushings. Anyway I have work ahead of me for the weekend. Not really work. More like fun.
