Master cylinder hints

It's been a while since I've done in depth brake work, and a couple hints came to mind:

You can gravity bleed most mastercylinders- you just open a bleeder, and come back in a few minutes. This works best on cylinders that do not have residual pressure valves inside. It worked on my under floor master by loosening the fitting at the master- the lines go uphill from there so it wouldn't work at the wheel.

As above, you can bleed sections of a system at the line fittings. This helped me confirm which hose was bad- the front one from frame to axle, it bled at input, not at output.

Also, it ocurred to me that some dual masters have residual check vales located in the outlet, in the brass line seat. You gotta use a screw into them to pull out for rebuilding, then replace with a new one- in the kit. ( I dont know wich ones, and I don'no who cares, just a thought for those interested in residual valves...)
