I went and traded for another Fargo body yesterday, but this one has me kind of baffled. It is the 36 37 38 body series, but I cannot find pictures of any Fargo's from that time period. My guess is it is a 37, but I'm not sure on that. The data plate (mounted on the front of the firewall, not on the door sill) reads:

Serial # 9585367
Model FE 459
Chrysler Corporation of Canada

Can anyone identify the year from this ??

It was a 1 1/2 or 2 ton, and from the pictures he has, it was fairly complete before he started "working on it". I traded 2 cans of tobacco (his request) for the body, that he was mounting on a chev 3/4 ton chasis. I am headed back today to pick up the cab and fenders, and will ask him about the chassis, but he lives across the alley from a scrap dealer, so I am not too optomistic. The hood and grill on this truck are different from any I have seen before. The hood sides have louvers punched into a raised panel that look very much like a streched 36 ford truck piece. The grill looks like a 38, but has a series of chrome chevrons running down the center piece. The headlight stand mount off of the fenders rather than on the side of the shell as on my 38 1 ton.
In the same town, there is what looks like a 39 Fargo 1 1/2 or 2 ton (close mounted headlights with no cowl lamps) that I will also be checking out when I head back today. It has no ID plate on the door jamb, so I am guessing it may be Canadian made as well. (It was too dark to see under the hood for the ID tag yesterday.)

Thanks in advance for help on the ID of this unit. J.V.L.
