These are the two filters used on the FFPW. Since you're using a filter different than what is required, that could be adding to the cannister leak. You should not have to tighten the cover as tight as you are doing. I would check without the seal and tighten the handle until it seats, then check the cover's fit against the cannister. You find that the cover is fatigued.
