I think after a while you will feel at home. Soon you will become acquainted with the folks, and as more of your friends from the old site come in, it will grow and evolve to be what you lost in the passing of another place. They can all come and create that feeling of connection and friendship.
When urban renewal and the construction of the freeway took out the old neighborhood tavern, the guys moved on to another place and it became theirs, just as the old one was for them.
