David: Your jeep engine is a late WW II MB jeep engine. The "12-12" cast into the block ahead of "639632" is the casting date of December 12, 1944. 1944 is the year based on the engine serial number MB-526776, which fits within late 1944.

The "WILLYS" and "JEEP" 639660C cylinder head is also late WW II and was in use during December 1944. But the "2-20" date cast into the head indicates it was cast on February 20th, so was that in 1944 or 1945? I'd guess 1945 based on the engine block casting date. So, you have a late WW II MB jeep engine.
