Or figuer out a solid coupling to mate one of the gearboxes to another? Gain 7" each place of 2 possibles, maybe a 3 way marriage (legal in your state?) could gain 14inchs, making final shaft 25" long? You could bolt 2 4-hole flanges face to face, build and machine a weldment to maintain alignment?
