Took the Power Wagon into Burlinton (the big city!) to dump a load of debris. Made a stop before the dump and when I came out the old girl wouldnt start. Upon investigation, I found that the spring loaded doogus in thw center of my distributor cap was missing. Now, as a Scoutmaster, I should know to "Be Prepared". However, the box of spare ignition parts and my tool box were both at the shop. All I had was my trusty leatherman. Fortunatly there was a Napa store about 50 yards away so I went there to buy a cap. The guy went straight to the books, found a cap and brought it to me. When I tried it, it was the wrong cap. Of course he didnt have the correct one, so I ended up buying it anyway, only for the doogus (technical term). Then, the doogus was too long. After carefull trimming and filing with my leatherman, I was able to reconnect the cap. It was a sweet sound to hear the powerfull roar of the old flathead. On the way home, I stopped at the local gravel pit and got 4200 pounds of gravel. You would swear that the truck had power steering with that kind of load.
