Lock Right Saga continues

My Lock Right was ratcheting after I put it back together the second time, but shortly locked up again. Tim Holloway provided me a copy of the instructions for the All-Trac , the original Lock Right. I found two differences that puzzle me.

1) Both original and current instructions refer to Bias Spring Discs (circled in blue). These discs were not included with my Lock Right or with the replacement parts they sent me when my first set of pins and springs went to pieces. Does anybody know if they used these discs in their locker?

2) The original instructions make no mention of the spacers (circled in red). Nor do they appear in the 1989 diagrams. The 1989 instruction even detail pushing in on the side gears while troubleshooting. The spacers keep the side gears from moving-only the drivers move. What's going on here? Was this a desing change that occurred at some point? How many of you have the spacers in your locker?

I'm not sure if Imageevent is working right now. Hopefully you will be able to see the photo I scanned from the current instruction book.
