I had some dings and dents in my bed rails. I think I used a 4' piece of 3/4" waterpipe. However, this was about 5 years ago (my memory statute of limitation is 3 years). The only reason I remember this is that it was part of my set of pipe clamps, that was sacrificed for a greater good. Heat the dent in the side rail, pound the pipe in, and remove (if desired). I used a pipe wrench to turn the pipe in order to remove it.
