Hi Tim,
If you are talking about the economic information, the Congressional Budget Office publishes a report every quarter. Any citizen can access it either at the Library of Congress or on line. Most news organizations print excerps from it, it is wise to get that news from more than one source, because most news sources have a bias or spin that they like to add. The Budget Office is supposedly bipartisan, just raw data, but I'm sure the staffers have a slant? It is important to get your "news" from reporters, not 'commentators'. The rest of it is historical data. But since I lived through those days and struggled through Carters malaise I remember painfully how the economy was in such a mess before President Reagan came into office. High unemployment, exteme interest rates of 21% and very high inflation. Part of what makes President Reagan so great was that the House and Senate were controlled by tax and spend democrats (I was one) President Reagan was able to use his powerful personality to change minds and get the required number of democrats to vote for his programs. As for the facts of his winning the Cold War, I was stationed on the Berlin Wall for a year, in 1971. I remember what it was like, that wall is now gone.
The Soviet Union is now gone, millions of people are now free, and my annoymous friend is still in denile. = )
