I need engine numbers from 1958 through 1968 W300M-WM300 PWs. The numbers in the parts books do not match what I have found so far in the field, so I need more engine numbers from actual trucks to verify what the correct engine code should be for a given year.
If you could provide your VIN number as well that would be great, as then I can compare the engine numbers to when the truck was made.
Both the 230 and the 251 have the engine number stamped in the same basic location, on a raised pad, on the drivers side of the engine, about 4" back from the front of the block, just below the head.
Look at the location pointed out by the arrow in the image above.
