Most likely the seals are already bad. I would buy new seals, inner wheel bearing and outer axle seal. You can't pull seals and use them again.. It always tears them apart.. If you buy old NOS stuff be sure and work the seal with plenty of oil (soaking it till saturated) and with a good smooth steel rod. Guess it's just what I do..
