The drums of hell are pounding in the dark sky tonight. We have been having days of evil weather, a number of tornadoes have touched down here in Eastern Iowa.
I don't want any more of them. In 1997 we had what was said not to be a tornado, it was supposedly straight line wind. It took my big barn and my hog house and a fair share of my house roof, and probably 50 trees. I spent half the summer picking up wood measuring three inches in diameter and up that was scattered over five of my 15 acres.
A wild storm like that is all at once fascinating and terrifying. All the same, I think I would trade this for earthquakes or hurricanes.
