I would be surprised if your trans sustained any damage in the fall. The input shaft is normally supported between the pilot bushing and the needles on the tailshaft nose, and in that position it is rigid. It is unimportant how much wobble it has unsupported, unless there is a bent retainer or a bearing that's missing parts. I looked at three of them I have sitting here, and they all have play. Glad to hear it didn't fall on anything vital!
