Not quite down to -40, but mine went to below -20 (no block heater). I go to school in Fairbanks, and it’s my only transportation up there. The rig isn’t pretty, it’s slow, the gas heater gets the cab above freezing- but not by much, but it gets me where I need to go (or feel like going as the case may be). Originally paid $2500 for my ‘63; it is original (including tweaked sheetmetal from when some GI rolled it) or has original (read mostly used) replacement pieces. Picked up a hardtop from a parts vehicle; was quoted $150 for one locally. The costs are adding up, but I’ve managed to afford it on a college kid’s budget, and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
