Well, the truck looks better. I spent my weekend removing the 6 inches Dupont Chip guard my trucks PO sprayed onto it... That was a project and a half. Took about two full days. Spent all Friday nite, Saturday day, and Sunday afternoon to get that gunk off the body of my truck.

Used about 3/4 gallon of Aircraft Paint Stripper to get that crap off and the four more layers of primer, paint, primer, paint. It's no wonder every time a rock smacks the paint I get a chip. The paint on the body is really heavy there's two layers, this will be it's 4th paint job in 30 years. But this time I'm taking it down to bare steel... One panel at a time... Looks like there have been a couple of rust repairs already with stainless steel.

Welding work was pretty decent no complaints.. The body is in pretty good shape for being 30 years old. The chip guard really ate up the bottom of the truck, looks like all the steel on the bottom of the truck is soft and needs to be replaced. Everything is either in the rockers, or the bottom 4-5 inches of the body. So I just need to fabricate a bunch of stainless sheet metal parts to match the original rotted out steel. Took a ton of in progress pics with my digital camera, but of course left it at home in my rush to get to work.

What is the best way to break the spot welds on the rocker panels?? With a chisel and hammer or with a drill? There are about 20 on the floor board inside the cab and about 30 on the bottom? I've got new rockers, but need to figure out how to get the stubborn things off first!
