Bed Wood..Anybody's Still Original??

Does anyone know if the original bed wood in a FFPW was painted black originaly or was it painted body color?
I know in the 70's the W series trucks had the wood painted with the body but I somehow thought the WDX's had the wood painted black.
Clint Dixon must know...Clinton??
