Tilt bed trailers, and winches... How do you do it?

I have a friend that is looking at buying a PW hauler, and I thought you guys might be able to answer some questions about them.

He is planning on buying a 18' trailer with a tilt bed, something like Tim and Will both bought a month or so ago.

He wants to mount a winch on the front of the trailer for dragging up dead trucks, and that worried me, as I can see all kinds of problems.

The problems I see are:

The winch cable will want to push down the tilt bed.

The winch cable may fray, and or damage the trailer deck as it goes over the tilt bed.

The winch cable may be damaged internally by going over the tilt bed as the angle will be too sharp.

Any attempt to brace the tilt bed might be dangerous, given the potential force on the winch cable, the bracing may fail, or the bed might bend.

Also, this is a 7,000lbs rated trailer, which is what I think others have been buying, the trailer weighs 1,800lbs, and a PW weighs 5,500lbs or more, has anyone else had problems with this?? The tires are rated at 7,280.

Thanks for any help you can provide!!

Eric
