That's a good suggestion. I was wondering about fuel too...since Tyler seems pretty sure about getting spark OK.

Tyler, WHERE are you testing for spark? At the plug-wire itself, or are you holding the COIL wire near the block?

We had a flathead-ford in a firetruck here which suddenly wouldn't start. In the course of normal troubleshooting, we yanked the coil wire outta the disty and it made the fattest whitest spark you could ask for. Motor just wouldn't fire tho.

Gas down the carb, no fire....

Finally pulled a PLUG wire, and whaddya know, no spark.

Replaced the cap (30 bucks!), STILL no spark at the plug...argghh...

Put a new rotor in (only 3 bucks <g>) and she took right off. Rotor was shorting through to the disty shaft...shorting spark to ground.
