Most Technicans working today have never
had training or need to work on carburetors
or other old technology - they have enough on their plate just trying to keep factory certified on the new stuff so they can work on it.
one of the dealerships I do work for has about 25 techs (GM & Nissan) the owner has
a 57 corvette with 2 4bbls - only one tech
had worked on that type of carburetors and he read the factory manual before he even started (old dealerships keep ALL factory manuals (both parts and service))
