I know a guy who did a carb rebuild, and when the truck was back together it would not start.

It turned out the ballast resistor had gone gone bad during the hour or two the carb was off, and that is why the truck would not start.

NORMALLY what the person working on the truck did is the problem, but weird things happen sometimes, and it never hurts to check things you did not touch after you have double checked your work.
