I prefer one chain on each end. I start at the front drivers side stake pocket, run the chain under the front axle, go over the diff, go back under the axle to the passanger side front stake pocket. Do the same on the rear as well. I use racheting load binders on each end. Make sure you check your load often. I have not had any problems towing Power Wagons and Jeeps with this method. If you use the old lever style chain binders, wrap your excess chain around the levers to prevent them from springing open.
