Did you have any problems with the steering when you had the truck? I suspect it was me cranking hard on the wheel combined with perhaps the plug not tightened enough. I suspect my cranking compressed the spring so much it allowed the ball to pop out. However it was almost two easy to pop back in with out having to loosen anything and it stayed in.
