depends on the repair needed I think. In my case a tree had crunched the cab and popped the spot wellds along the seam. This required drilling out all the spot welds along where it is attaches to the cab and removing the wiper cover housing(job in itself) to properly get at the source. I rewelded where need be on the backside of the seam and then used automotive seam sealer along the whole edge just to be sure it is tight. Rewelded the cover housing back plug welding and grinding them smooth at the holes left by drilling out the spot welds. The sides inside where it attaches has a crappy weld so no major welding skills needed there haha. You just have to make sure everything is square is the main thing when putting it back. Sorry I didn't take pics when I'm in the groove I just keep going until it is finished.
If it is really rusted out I think Gordon in Scotland had some pics and an explanation somewhere how he replaced the whole section maybe do a search in "Phil's PW Archives" at the top. I did a quick search and "seam repair" quite a few posts about it.
