I would like to recommend a shop that I have used to repair my starter.

I burnt up the 6 volt starter on my 46 WDX when I had a problem with a broken wire to my electric fuel pump.

I got stuck on a blind curve in the road and had to use the starter to crank the truck off the road. It overheated and thru a copper bar off the armature which then chewed up the field wiring.

I got a new armature, brushes, field wiring and contact switch. Cost was $90.00 with a 10% discount ($81.00 total) since I had used the internet to find them.

While I was there I bought a single wire alternator to put on the 58 I am working on. They swapped the pulley to match the PW belt size and changed the internal regulator so it would start charging at the lower RPM that the flat head 6 runs at. Cost was $59.00

This is a " mom and pop" business that gives excellent service (1 year warranty).

They will ship to any place in the country. This is the type of business that is very rapidly disappearing in this country.

Company Name is S & W Starter & Alternator.
