Pulled a 1963 10x50 Detroiter trailer house from Bozeman Mt. to CDA. Idaho
with a 71 W-300 318 4.88 gears long slow trip,
but made it over the mountains
used to pull a JD 500c backhoe with 70 D-300, 400+ hp 440, it did pretty good for 17,000 lbs on the hoe and a 6,000 pound trailer. that was with 4.10 gears.
also used the W-300 to move 14x70 trailer houses when the toaters couldn't get around in the snow.
I suggest you use the poly 318 if you have it and sitck with the 4,89's and 9.00x16's
or buy a bigger truck if you are in a hurry to move stuff
