The flux core is great if you have to drag the cart into a tight place or somewhere, such as a scaffold where the cart won't fit. You can disconnect the bottles and use the welder as a gasless unit. The splatter is not near as bad as a stick welder, in fact on a windy day where gas is useless, it works pretty well. Just don't forget to reverse your welder polarity before switching to the flux, and don't forget to switch it back again after you put the bottle back on.
