Yes, I had that happen to my 1990 honda car about a week after I bought it. Water pump seized up and stripped the timing belt. Fortunately the honda motors have enough valve/piston clearance that a broken timing belt doesn't cause any damage. Even more fortunately, mine broke at the top of the hill above my house and I was able to roll home and into the garage. The honda motors pack a lot of power in a small package with very good efficiency and long life, but despite these virtues I just don't really like any "new" engines. I live with them because 35 mpg saves a lot of money for more interesting uses. The Datsun/Nissan z24 is my least favorite rice-burner. I've had two friends who had them and they both blew head gaskets multiple times despite having the aluminum head milled. There just doesn't seem to be enough gasket between the cylinders on them.
