I'll say amen to Mr. Sherman's comments regarding the '60s JD hoes, I wouldn't buy another one. Mine's a 1010 and it's still working but it's a miracle...a very well-used machine. I've gotten a few important projects done with it so it doesn't owe me anything but the more I'm around it the more I realize it could have gone belly up the first day. They tell me if the swing motor were to go out, a used replacement could easily cost more than I paid for the hoe in the first place ($1,700). I have to admit it's fun to have around, had it out "expanding" the yard this morning. It's dsl but it's a tractor with hoe attachment-style, not a very good choice for rough/steep ground.
