Good Morning:

I been having some oil pressure gauge problems on the '91 W-250 Cummins Truck. A week or so back, the gauge was reading very low after the truck got fully warmed up. Seeing the truck had not had an oil change since I bought it, (I had only put 250 or so easy miles on it since I had it) I went ahead and changed oil and filter. Still didnt help. I went to local parts place and picked up the most expensive Sunpro oil pressure gauge and decided to go with the copper line instead of the nylon hose that came with it (I know a guy who blew up an engine in a Ford Ranger when one of those plastic nylon lines got a hole in it) I installed the gauge being very carefull to see that I did not kink the copper line, and made shure the fitttings sealed fine. Well now, I start the truck and Yea, its get oil pressure. According to the gauge it is getting too much! 60 at Idle when cold, 45 at Idle when hot, and 70 PSI when your getting up to speed or have made speed. Very very odd. Is this some fluke in the gauge or something? I see no reason why the engine should not have oil pressure because the guy I bought the truck from put new bearings in the lower end about a year and a half ago. I drove the truck all day yesterday and it seemed fine. I THINK just for piece of mind, I am gonna take it to a repair shop and have a tech hook up a gauge to it just to be safe. I know I am making a big deal outta this, but I dont feel like spending $2500+ to replace my Cummins if it dies, and its not like I have 4 of them settin 'outback' to replace it with! I have had good luck with aftermarket gauges in the past.

I need a good used Rotor for my truck as well, its got a Dana 60 front. Anybody have one for sale cheap! LOL!

Thanks guys!
