There is an oilfield manufacturing shop in town that "phosphates" all of their small parts. I have had them dip a bunch of pieces for the Mog with good results. I believe that many of these parts were done at the factory when new, but bead blasting them clean removed all of it. If requested, I will get the name of the supplier that they deal with for their chemistry. They run both the chemical tank, and the oil dip tank "hot", (maybe 150 deg.) but the tanks are plastic, with electric immersion heaters in them. It could be fairly easy to set up at home using a couple of resealable 5 gal oil pails and an element from a stock watering bowl.

The finish they get here is a dark grey/black after being oiled. Both paint and powder coat seemed to stick well to the Parker finish.

Another source for supplies and info is www.caswellplating.com J.V.L.
