Zinc coating would be excellent for this application, but maybe more than is required and there might be an issue with finding a business that has tanks big enough for a cab.
I've used zinc alone as a plating on steel, for rust prevention, without any subsequent painting. Choices are clear, gold and black zinc.
However, you have to take draining into account. If you can't adequately allow the fluids to drain off after bath immersion, you get bad plating effects and rust potential.
