I used my 20,000 lbs. pto garwood winch to pull out a good sized tree stump today. The winch is on my 1973 w100 short bed. It removed the stump with ease. The truck has dana 60s front and rear. At the momet the truck has a 440 and a auto. I have an 392 hemi and a n.p. 540 out of an 1959 school bus. The motor is at the shop and will be done soon.
I have wanted to put a 392 hemi in a 4x4 for many years. This winch and power plant combo should be very strong. Do you think if I find a stuck Jap. truck on the trail, I would turn his short bed into a long bed?
