If you look at early factory photos of the WDX, you will clearly see that the cad plated fasteners on the front bed panel are unpainted. Yhis applies to the fasteners attaching the black tailgate hinges as well. Also, you will notice the cad plated fasteners mounting the bumberettes, and the wheel lugs are cad plated and unpainted.

Later factory photos show bed fasteners, and tailgate hinges painted body color, and bumber fasteners and lugs painted black.

One thing I have been wondering about is door hinge mirror mounts. On some early trucks they appear to be black. On others they appear body color. On later trucks they are painted white, along with the mirrors. What have others observed?
