I always prime & paint each part & then assemble but that's not how dodge did it. Depends how authentic you want your restoration.
On a WDX, the factory would assemble primed parts & then paint. If you look at a bed for example, the black primed front panel, sides & rear support were bolted together with nicely Cad plated bolts, then shot with color, bolts & all.
Same with the complete front bumper/winch assembly.
I can't bring myself to do it that way but have a look inside your doors...regulators in, door latches etc then all oversprayed with red, green or whatever color she was original.
Sloppy I say!
