He needs to look at fuel filters for his land yacht at a sea yacht supply house. West Marine (www.westmarine.com.) and others market a wide range of large filters, some of which are aimed at removing large amounts water. They can be very cost effective.
Actually, marine alternators, starters, etc., have many dry land applications - including solar panels to keep your batteries charged between use.
