I believe the reason why he opted for the hydraulic control on the swivel is because in certain situation, you may want "level/swivel" the truck allowing it to articulate less. For example, if one was coming off one obstacle and one to another, I would want the rear to be less articulated. Does that make sense? Having the ability to remotely "stablize" your truck instead of relying on the contour of an obstacle would be a great benefit. My 1.5 cents.
