Would a non-winch truck be set up (PTO) for winch?

Was looking at possible purchase of non-winch truck. Am wondering whether it (PTO/trans,etc) would be set up to accept winch, or would all of that have to be added before one could adapt over a winch from another truck? Any info would be appreciated. Truck is a distance away, and I've only seen exterior pictures, though it is represented as an original 50 ffpw w/out winch. Thanks again, R. Rogers
